Join us in Brussels on Wednesday, September 6th, from 5 to 8 pm for a conference dedicated to exploring the circularity of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and the proposed Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).
This event is organized by CITEO, EXPRA, and PROSPA.
The draft PPWR, published by the Commission in November 2022, emphasizes the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling household packaging to enhance resource management. To achieve a circular economy through EPR across the entire value chain within the framework of PPWR, we must collaborate and activate all available levers for all materials.
Our conference seeks to address critical questions:
How can we ensure the successful implementation of a circular economy through EPR in the context of PPWR?
How can EPR serve as a tool to meet European targets while considering all levers?
To provide answers, we aim to gather technical experts, representatives from the Commission, and Parliament to share knowledge on each lever.
The agenda includes an introduction, an overview of the context with the Waste Early Warning report, and two insightful roundtable discussions. The first roundtable will focus on “The role of EPR and complementary tools to reduce and reuse packaging,” while the second roundtable will explore “Improving collection and sorting and recycling through existing and innovative levers to achieve recycling targets.” After the conference, join us for a delightful cocktail to further network and discuss these crucial topics.
