Madrid, May 16, 2025 – Ecovidrio, Spain’s sole non-profit organization specialized in glass packaging recycling that manages selective collection on the ground, has launched Ecovidrio Administrations—a groundbreaking digital tool that provides municipal teams with detailed information on the daily collection of glass packaging by container. The platform is designed to promote a more transparent, agile, and efficient waste management model across the country.
With Ecovidrio Administrations, municipalities can now access data on container fill levels using an innovative solution powered by artificial intelligence. The platform also offers integrated access to the municipality’s container census and historical glass collection data with just one click.
Beyond collection data, Ecovidrio Administrations serves as a comprehensive digital hub where local governments can view collaboration agreements, manage all administrative requests, and monitor cleaning, maintenance, and repair services for containers. It also tracks the status of incidents related to containers in cities where Ecovidrio directly manages the selective collection system (SCRAP).
This close cooperation between Ecovidrio and municipal teams facilitates open dialogue, clear and accurate information exchange, and full traceability of glass packaging waste. This enables swift implementation of targeted improvement plans and corrective measures in specific municipal areas.
Gonzalo De Sebastián, Ecovidrio’s Director of Strategy and Innovation, emphasizes,
“Transparency is a fundamental pillar in our relationship with public administrations, which has earned us their trust. With this new portal, we advance toward a more efficient management model while strengthening and promoting shared responsibility to jointly achieve the ambitious goals ahead.”
Additionally, all information available on Ecovidrio Administrations can be directly integrated into the management systems used by public administrations through technological solutions that facilitate comprehensive municipal waste management.
