On December 19, 2025, CITEO hosted a high-level webinar dedicated to the recyclability of household packaging and the key changes introduced by the new European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).

With more than 1,600 participants, the session aimed to clarify the main orientations of the PPWR and provide practical insights to help stakeholders anticipate and prepare for the upcoming regulatory transition. The webinar featured direct input from the European Commission and focused on the implications of the regulation for household packaging.

On March 4, 2025,  CONAI – Consorzio Nazionale Imballaggi held the webinar “New Packaging Regulation: Operational Guidelines for Businesses.”

The event provided an overview of the obligations outlined in Chapter II of the new EU Regulation 2025/40 on packaging and packaging waste, published in the Official Journal of the European Union on January 22, highlighting its implications for businesses.

As part of its support initiatives, CONAI provided tools to help companies and industry associations better understand the regulation and adapt to the new sustainability requirements

On April 1, 2025, a webinar organized by Fundación Alternativas in collaboration with Ecoembes – Spain explored the social impact of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and its potential to support a just and sustainable transition. A study conducted in 2020 revealed that activities related to Ecoembes’ Collective EPR System (SCRAP) were responsible for generating more than 46,000 direct and indirect jobs. This growth has taken place in a sector characterized by strong job security and low employee turnover, highlighting the vital role SCRAPs play as catalysts for green employment in Spain.
